Post 64 won 33 games and lost only 9 having a very strong season. The team won its regular season with an 18 and 1 record and also the playoffs and ESD championship. In non-league tournament play the Blue Sox finished in 2nd place in three tournaments defeating four very good teams (Pasadena, MD, South Windsor, CT, Stahl Post 30 the DE state champs, and two games against Post 553 from S. Glens Falls, NY.
Salisbury won two and lost two in the MD State Tournament. This was another year beset with injuries. Catcher Derrek Johnson broke two bones in his throwing hand 2 weeks before the state tournament. 1st baseman Phillip Benvenuto hurt his back and was done for the season, 2nd baseman Bobby Somers hurt his ankle and was out for the season, center fielder Steven Benvenuto who was having a great year hurt his back prior to the state tournament and was unable to play, and our top pitcher Marty Zawacki hurt his pitching arm in the 1st game of the State Tournament and was out for the rest of the tournament.
Shortstop Will Evans was the top hitter with .455 average which included 50 hits, 13 doubles, 4 triples and 28 RBIs. He also had 12 stolen bases tied with Jeff Malcom and Marty Zawacki. Marty Zawacki won 6 games and lost 1 and also led the pitching staff with 83 strikeouts.
